Nice original SWB engine lid grille. Straight and undamaged. This is a silver grille that has been painted over with black. It can be used as is or restored back to the original silver.
Comparing this to the original LWB grille (recently listed HERE) is an interesting glimpse of Porsche history. It seems to represent a change in Porsche's philosophy in building cars. The SWB grille is stout, bomber grade and somewhat complicated in its engineering while the LWB grille is light, simpler and perhaps could be called elegantly engineered. The SWB grille appears to be higher quality at first glance but the LWB grille does the same job with fewer parts and looks just as good when mounted (perhaps better).
