Choose Quality
The world is flooded with cheap $20.00 mechanical relays. It's your car and your choice but we recommend spending a few extra bucks on a high quality solid state DME relay. We have chosen one made by a small, specialized company (our favorite kind of company) as our Best-in-Class® DME fuel pump relay with a lower price and higher quality than those offered by Porsche®.
“Diagnostics” (Optional Feature)
This cool optional feature allows you to instantly know the state of the DME relay. It features four LED's that are directly connected to the critical inputs and outputs. If all four LED's are illuminated and the engine does not start it means that the issue is with something other than the relay. If one or more LED(s) are off , there is an issue with the corresponding circuit:
- Yellow: Input signal to power up fuel injection system and enable fuel pump control.
- Red: Output indicating the fuel injection system is powered up.
- Green: Input signal indicating the DME relay is supplying power to the fuel pump.
- Blue: Output indicating the DME (engine computer) is commanding the fuel pump on.
Pump-Prime (Optional Feature)
The Pump-Prime feature automatically runs the fuel pump for up to 3 seconds when the ignition is switched to the "On" position. This builds optimum fuel pressure before cranking the engine, insuring your Porsche starts as fast and as smooth as possible.
