I’m excited about this new product. It’s been used for years on aircraft engines and I’ve often wondered why the technology has not been widely used on automobile engines. Especially our air-cooled Porsches!
This is a pretty simple device - a finned heat sink mounts on your oil filter container. It’s made of high quality cast aluminum, which is used for heat sinks in many applications as aluminum conducts heat much more efficiently than steel and many other metals.
The heat sink fits snugly over your oil filter canister and is secured with a easily released stainless steel band. Testing by a former manufacturer demonstrated a reduction of oil temperature in an oil cooled car by 18-23 degrees Fahrenheit or 12%. Click here for more details.
These are in the late stages of production and should be available soon. Use the contact information on the Contact Page if you would like to receive notice when they are in stock.
This is one of those products where there’s a lot to gain and very little to lose. Hard to find a negative in having our air-cooled engines run cooler.
