The Gold Series along with the Silver Series make up our budget priced line-up of LED headlights for air-cooled Porsches. The New Gold Plus Series (is an addition to our premium line-up which also includes the Platinum Series.
The main difference between the Gold and Gold Plus Series is that the LED bulb assemblies are upgraded from the budget priced Sunpie LED's to the premium Philips Integral Beam bulb assemblies that we use in the Platinum Series, which we consider to be the best in the world.
Choice of Lenses
We recommend clear lenses for optimal performance based on input from Daniel Stern, our Sr. Lighting Consultant. Daniel, a world-wide acknowledged authority on automobile lighting, bases his recommendations on scientific study with differences often not perceived by human vision. Based on that he only recommends clear lenses on LED headlights. Many of our customers prefer fluted lenses for the most original appearance and the only negative that they have been able to perceive (with human eyes) has been slight "gray-barring" on low beams only.
Hella 4475 Flat Lenses
BOSCH H4 fluted lenses are fine but they are vertical with a ridge on the top which breaks the perfect silhouette of the 911. The HELLA 4475 lenses were used on early 911's. They're flat with no ridge on top which lies flat with the fender preserving the perfect and classic silhouette.
INSTALLATION NOTES - Please Read
(1) While these are complete assemblies and largely plug n’ play, some Porsche models have metal mounting tabs inside the fender headlight buckets that are used for other headlights. They are not used for the LED assemblies and may interfere with mounting. If that is the case it will be necessary to bend them back. They are sturdy and could be bent back in the future if so desired.
(2) These headlights use H4 type 3-prong plugs.Depending on the headlights you currently have, sugar scoops for example, you may need H4/H5 plug adapters available HERE for $19.00
