Restored Originals or High Quality Reproductions?
It hurts a little bit to say this. But after 25 years of restoring original parts it's become apparent that, unless you absolutely need originality, much better price performance is delivered by new Best-in-Class reproduction parts. So my job shifts from restoring parts to evaluating and determining what reproduction parts are of sufficient quality to add to our catalog (restoring is way more fun).
Perfect Example
These new production housings are a perfect example. They are one of the best complex reproduction parts that I have ever seen. They are all metal and the details, craftsmanship and fit are spot-on. They are relatively inexpensive and 100% complete and plug n' play ready to install.
