LED Units: Philips Integral Beam LED H6024

Automotive Lighting Engineer and Audette Consultant Chief Consultant Daniel Stern is a hard man to impress but the results of his scientific testing has caused him to rate the Philips Integral Beam LED's a clear #1 in the crowded world of 7" LED's. To quote:

"The Philips Integral LED's give a wide, even carpet of light with super high intensity placed right where it's needed for long seeing distance up the road; that's a really difficult thing to achieve especially with a low lamp mounting height like in the classic Porsches, but Philips has done it nicely.

The low beam has a sharp, stair-step-shaped cutoff and its maximum intensity is about *five times* greater than you get with an H4 lamp. The high beam keeps the width and adds a big fireball of light straight ahead, about twice as much light as you get from an H4. Over 54,000 candela peak intensity on low beam, over 78,000 on high beam; those are _excellent_ numbers, and the location of the "hot spot" is very well placed where it needs to be so the driver gets to see what they need to see. This really is a knocked-outta-the-park product from Philips."

The Philips LED's have a color temperature which is white and very close to daylight. Many feel that that reduces eye fatigue when driving for a long time which is why they are most commonly used by long-haul truckers. However some prefer the more familiar and warmer colors further down the range. Here's a chart of Kelvin colors:

Color temperature of the Philips is 6000k. We do option a very high quality option for those who prefer a warmer color and it's an easy choice - JW Speaker 8700's with a color temperature of 4,000k. We built our premium LED assemblies using the JW Speakers of over 8 years until Philips beat them out on our consultant's rating. We give up nothing by opting for the warmer color but the Speakers do have a premium price.
